Ebay-UK Series 3 Dormobile

Is this anyone on here? The "Tess" mentioned by user martyn was green with a different number plate. Ebay item 124543080974 Seems complete to me, including wardrobe and table, which is very rare to find (though no view of the bottle cage), with minimal user modifications. I don't personall...

Re: Camping with my 110 County

That's a very cool pop-up roof. Can you give details?

[EDIT] Aha! I see it's in the other thread ! I'll post / read over there!

Re: Colorado again

Hi Ian- well I pretty much followed the writeup(s) on TerriAnn's site but I think my best tip is to check the tension on the hinge side during closing! Install it loose and tighten very conservatively, checking constantly as the roof closes. What really helped was having another person open and clos...

Shipping a Land Rover overseas?

Hi everyone- I mentioned this idea in Ian's thread about Colorado - I know some of you do big expeditions. How do you ship the Land Rover? And do you accompany it on board ship, or fly? I'm a USA native and I was toying with doing a Dormobile tour there, but my Dormobile is of course here in Europe....

Re: Colorado again

Hi Ian- cool hobby! It's great to see a marine blue Dormobile in Colorado! I guess I hadn't seen your previous trip report from 2016. I'm actually from Boulder and bought my Dormobile here 13 years ago in order to bring it back with me to Colorado when I returned ... which won't ever happen, as we'v...

Re: Dormobile 'headlining'

Hi, I'm late to this discussion but I had no headlining at all in front on mine and made my own by guessing. My only clues were the original wooden battens that you see in GMF's photos, with remnants of the vinyl-covered original trim sandwiched between the Silent Gliss and the battens. I used 3mm M...

Re: Doormobile wanted

Bob that's great! Bea and my dormobile swapped some pieces a while back when Phil was helping me get mine back on the road. I provided an extended indoor rear door lever and he a couple of Dormatic seat knobs and a set of rear door table mounting hardware for me to copy. It's a small but supportive ...

Re: Doormobile wanted

Hi, Bea would be a first-class vehicle, the oldest known, new chassis! However I've had the opportunity to compare a 2.25L petrol Dormobile and my 2.6L sixpot and the extra torque of the six is really desirable for the extra weight hauled in a Dormobile and for hilly terrain typically encountered on...

Re: Dormobile roof strengthening bar?

I saw this late but I have to join the club! That was 2007, rusty rod/plates in the hing-side and the front: https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1755/42096658074_10cf3a8da3_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1726/41913293985_8479a24464_b.jpg I had few skills and little equipment at the time so I used a...

Re: 1963 Dormobile

Hi- I just saw this thread, what a bunch of projects! I've got just the kids and an 86" in addition to the Dormobile and I can barely keep up! I noticed that your rear rain gutter has a crack in exactly the same spot that mine does! I don't know if it's from someone lifting themselves in by han...
