Re: new roof
I couldn't decide what to do about the flocking on my roof. It was damaged where the windows had leaked and bubbled it in one or two places in the middle. I have stripped it all off and will be taking it to Banbury flocking service who seem to do alot of car dash parts. The colour looked beige but w...

carawagon roof restoration
Hi, Just wondering what to do about the damaged flock lining to my carawagon roof. There is slight bubbling in odd places but damage where the alpine windows have leaked. Has anyone stripped it all off and covered with a material? not sure how to tackle it, maybe strip 4"along the bottom edges ...

Re: progress at last
Hi Robin, Thankyou for that, when I was taking it apart I thought this will be interesting putting it all back together. I am impressed that you have rebuilt 3, do you have the largest collection of carawagons? I really like the way they are designed and put together, so simple, I did notice that to...

Re: progress at last
Thanks Robin, Do you have a preferred way to assemble? I am guessing make sure that the aluminium sheet sits flat when down that way there is some adjustment on the height of the curved end sections. I was going to make sure it all works before I put all the screws and rivets in, as you say a few sm...

progress at last
IMG_3987.JPG My carawagon roof restoration is starting to come together. It has just passed another MOT thanks to my OH rebuilding the front swivel and new servo. I need to sort out the bendy roof section next, dirt and flaking paint on the outside, damaged flock on the inside where the windows hav...

Re: 1000 mile trip
Hi, I use petrol to start up when cold then switch to gas. It will not run on petrol without the choke out and is always stalling (set up to run on gas?) I am hoping to get time this year to finish the roof. I have all the seals, all the plywood cut and primed, just need to clean up the bendy alumin...

1000 mile trip
Hi, Just returned from my first carawagon adventure. 1000 mile round trip from Rugby to Oban I left the landrover in Oban and took the ferry to Barra to sail for the week, slight detour round Scotland and home again. It is a 4 cylinder petrol with a gas conversion which was done years ago, apart fro...

Re: Anyone seen a triangular Carawagon badge?
I have this badge on my 1975 carawagon. When I get chance I will post a photo. It also has another badge which has turned black, anyone know what that one would have looked like?
