Re: Cool box / refrigerator suggestions?
Hmm, as much as I love the idea of travelling in an original vehicle, those wardrobes aren't the most useful things. We use it for storing things that could be stored in any old box anywhere. I could store it in the garage at home and replace with somethign more useful. I like the additional shelvin...

Re: Cool box / refrigerator suggestions?
Woops, of course I meant Watts and not Amps, thanks! Our main need is storing leftover food so we don't just throw it away, plus a few staples like butter, milk, cheese, yogurt (the rest of the family is Swiss, after all). Luckily I like warm (ish) beer. The 36L I currently have is rarely filled up,...

Cool box / refrigerator suggestions?
Hi everyone, I have a 3-way absorption fridge that I use in the Dormobile. It draws 75A and cools to about 20C below ambient temperature, maybe more on gas. I like it because it was cheap (it's 35 years old) and because it can run on gas for so long, in case we're in a place without electricity. Bec...

Re: Gathering in Normandy 2016.1st - 4th June.
OK I've looked at routes and (seems like déja vu) I don't think we can make the trip in a single day, meaning taking the kids out of school for several days and leaving the event already on Saturday. While it's possible, it doesn't seem really sensible. So don't count on me this time, either, sorry!...

Re: 1969 Carawagon on ebay
Hi, I just saw this ad by chance and it reminded me to check into this forum and see what the enthusiasts are thinking! (Why are so many camper conversions located in Yorkshire??) This would be a fun opportunity for someone! ... but it's not for me this time. I have too many Land Rovers in bits! It'...

Re: Tent for a Dormobile
Hi, I have a question about the Caranex vs. a heavier bulkier tent. My current tent/awning is 1980s ugly, free-standing and huge but difficult to set up alone and very heavy/bulky. It has no floor. In appearance it's similar to Dormy's "Moto"-thingy in the original post. It's just not wort...

If it's a one ton chassis, I meant to say that I see it as a plus. And at least as original as a TDI
