Well, if you like looking at tractors, it was fine - plenty to look at!

Classic cars - apart from our Land Rovers, there were three!! A moggy, an old Ford, and a mini-van.

There were a few commercial vehicles lined up, one traction engine and probably about 25 stationary engines as well, but most of the showground was empty!

There weren't as many sellers/stalls as usual, but the big tool stalls were there.

We were told off on the Friday night for having an 'open fire' and had to put it out.
The H&S guy was adamant that it was in our terms and conditions of entry - it wasn't, I checked - no mention of fires at all, so I flagged him down and asked him to check. He never got back to us so we spent a cold evening huddled round a Tilly lamp before an early night.

We did light the firepit on the Saturday night, with windbreaks around up to hide it  and had a good evening talking nonsense.

Next year's date has been moved forward a week, so will fall on bonfire weekend, and I think the feeling in our camp is that because of that, and the possibility of no fire, some of us might not bother going

Let's see what 2022 brings :tiphat:

Cheers,
Robin.

Shame, it was good when I made it to the last one. It's also a good time for using excess leave....

In better news, I have a door and most of the roof. Hopefully have a kitchen in the next week or so. Just curious as to how long the screws will be to fasten the units up over about 3 layers of dot & dabbed plaster board.

Newark 2021 was rather disappointing, had less of everything and with the date change for 2022 I definitely will not be going to the next show.

Not sure if it was the events fault or a combination of Covid and fuel costs keeping the exhibits away, looking how full the car park was there were more visitors through the gates than normal

Anyway here are my photos from the weekend https://www.flickr.com/photos/21667585@ ... 0210509750
