Transfer case cooling

Post by Ian » Fri Oct 16, 2020 12:49 am

In a bid to help with transfer case cooling (and thus also gearbox cooling), I've fitted an aftermarket cover that increases the cooling capacity by about a litre.

New cover with original for comparison

I'm glad I did as the temperature crossing the Mojave Desert was 49 degs C! I couldn't touch the bulkhead as it was so hot. Made by a company called Wootz in Tucson, where they know a thing or two about hot weather.

I think it was about $250 plus shipping.

Nice thick flange on that - should seal well
