'The Wagon' test camp number 1

Post by DanC » Wed Jun 05, 2013 3:44 pm

Well, finally this weekend all was ready for a trip in the Dormi!! We kept close to home (about 30 miles) to make sure that we weren't that far away if anything decided to give up the ghost.... The Dormi was faultless (aside from a sticky throttle, that I will deal with this weekend). It is an amazing usable vehicle and so well thought out!! We slept in the downstairs double bed and actually found it incredibly comfortable (something to do with my recovering perhaps??) and got a great nights sleep in a very roomy berth... The only issue is that my feet kept touching the cooker and the metal was a bit chilly, we were on a slight slope so were sleeping head up, Alex has advised to sleep the other way around!!
Rolling up on Monday afternoon, roof up and and ready for lounging!! We got a lot of admiring glances and my friend David (Zeus on the S2C forum) and his wife popped by to have a gander...

Hi Dan

Pleased to hear the first outing went well.

See you celebrated with a beer(or two)

I do like the wood interior of the carawagon, but
I prefer the look of a 5 door station wagon.Yours
looks really good. :tiphat:

Regards

Phillip

Congratulations !
Glad it went well. Definately sleep the other way !

We just got back this morning from our early summer trip; Rotterdam, Bruges, Wiesbaden, Regensburg, Bavarian (strictly Allgau) Alps, then Switzerland, Colmar, Gent and Zeebrugge.
Gave Czech republic a miss as couldn't get their due to motorways being flooded.

Full report later!

Had a puncture and wrote off a tyre

of course, plus 2 inner tubes, a couple of brake cylinders, a seal kit and some odd water hoses, plus RH breakdown insurance !
