PM sent but it's still in my 'Outbox'

I sent a PM a week ago or so to another forum member. The PM is still in my 'outbox' rather than in 'sent messages' ? Unfortunately, I can see from the members profile he hasn't been active since before I sent the PM :o so obviously I haven't had a reply

I think that means there in box is full.

Right, it seems that that's intentional, the message stays in your Outbox until the recipient has read it. At which point it'll be moved into your "Sent messages" folder.
This gives you chance to edit or delete a message that hasn't been received yet.

It is a bit confusing, but that's the way it's supposed to work. I don't think I'll be able to change the functionality, but I'll add in a line of explanation somewhere on the PM page.

Hi, i sent a msg to RMS (Robin) a few days ago and msg box says not opened by recipient yet. is this a problem?

Hi,

Is this still the case......that a mail,sits in your outbox until read by the recipient?

I have 4 PM's sat in my outbox at present.... Seems a little odd.

That should be what happens, it's a bit odd but the idea is that the message goes into Outbox until it's read - then it moves into 'Sent messages'.
Have the 4 people you've sent messages to posted anything recently?
