As one might expect on a mildly stressful day such as this, Mrs' Armitage the ambulance is refusing to start.

I have returned to the kettle in an attempt to help us both calm down a bit.

It's beginning to look like my 'new'fuel pump has failed after less than a thousand miles.

I cant remember what colour the box was.

Have you got a spare?

Otherwise a petrol can bungeed on the roof and a length of washer tube would work

One of the spares I carry on longer trips/expeditions in a group is an SU type electric fuel pump - can be spliced into the fuel line on a petrol or Diesel as a temporary fix if the mechanical pump fails.

Only had to use it once, and that was on my 200tdi when the original pump failed just after installing the lump in my Carawagon.
Took it back off and back into my spares kit when I replaced the original with a Britpart pump, which has been fine for the last 5 years

Hope you get it running, somehow

Cheers,
Robin.

Viamphie, Bless Him, has driven to Paddocks to fetch a new pump.

I hope it will work with the existing pipework.

In the mean time I will continue to stuff miscellaneous jusk into the vehicle in the rain.

Oooh it's all such an adventure.
