Dormobile rear seat stowing straps

Post by Litelandy » Fri Feb 19, 2016 2:30 am

Gday. Can anyone please post some pictures of the 2nd row seat stowing straps? Where they anchor to and what they look like?

Cheers

Hi Glen and welcome to the forum, the rear seat straps were made of canvas and had a simple buckle on them . Mine were a bit worse for wear and I removed them and replaced them with a more modern plastic type as fitted to schoolbags

I think I might have kept the originals, so when I remember I'll try and find them and take a pic. This pic shows the strap (at the front of the curtain )

Thanks Jerryd. I'd definitely appreciate some pictures as the only ones I can find are grainy and hard to make out. From what I can tell the end of the strap slipped behind the plastic trim around the hole in the roof and was presumably anchored by a screw.

My Dormobile was missing these straps when it came to me but I can see they'd be quite handy to have!

Cheers

Hi Glen,

Is this what you are looking for?

It is held on by two screws.

Glen The other one is a mirror of that one. There is only one screw per side.

Both my straps have two screws. Its a 1962 so your mileage may vary.

My Straps have two screw, cross corner with an alloy plate over the strap. My Dormobile has this type of buckle on white straps originally. But it now has green straps as I picked up a load of them at a Land Rover show.

Hi Glen,

Here is a picture of where they attach on the 'C' post, (interior trim not currently fitted). Note; the webbing on mine is a replacement as the originals finally split after many years and the black nylon strap was just a convenient substitute. I still have the originals - somewhere ?
