Robin - you can't let this go.
Now you are in the swing of carawagon restoration!
Apologies if already mentioned in previous topic

"RMS Carawagon Sales And Hire" I can see a business opportunity here Robin
I'm amazed how these vehicles keep turning up, a nice original dormobile just surfaced over here and it was sold within hours. It's off to a new life in Tasmania, I've told the new owner about LRCC so hopefully he'll sign up

I'll be watching this with interest, though I don't think I'll be bidding on it as I've got too many 'projects' on at the moment

Re: carawagon ebay with Robin's name on
I don't think I'll be getting any more for a while John - just too much on and funds are low - have to get a galv chassis for my latest one
Thanks Alex - if I need more storage I'll let you know
Cheers,
Robin.

Re: carawagon ebay with Robin's name on
This one is begging for someone to buy it, take the Carawagon Conversion off and drop it onto an abandoned Series 2 project - preferably one with a galv chassis and a 200 tdi in place - ring any bells? The 6cyl petrol engine and other bits off the S3 could then be sold on. I'd do it but I value my wife's cooking too much....

So you mean make it into a another no-history bitsa rather than the rather original vehicle as it is now?overlander wrote:This one is begging for someone to buy it, take the Carawagon Conversion off and drop it onto an abandoned Series 2 project - preferably one with a galv chassis and a 200 tdi in place - ring any bells? I'm sure John is just making a joking reference to my latest project, which by the way, WILL be a bitsa as the Carawagon body is all that's available.
Then again, is that any different to what Searle did? After all, they are just big meccano sets
![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
Anyway, I'm sure the one we are referring to can be saved without cutting & shutting
