Hi Robin,
second time I tried writing a reply and it vanished again! I have not had much luck with this and it is frustrating, I don't know if this message will reach you....
When in April will you be in Melbourne?
Best regards,
Darren

Sorry Jerry, not this time - flying straight to Melbourne then on to Hobartjerryd wrote:G'day Robin,

We'll be in Tasmania for just over a month, making up for the last time which was cut short, then flying to Adelaide and taking a couple of weeks driving the coast road to Melbourne, with a few days on Kangaroo Island.
Maybe next time
That's a very clean gearbox - did it go through the dishwasher
Cheers,
Robin.

Strange - I don't know if anyone else is having a problem with posts - it seems ok for meCurlyKangaroo wrote:Hi Robin,

We'll be driving from Adelaide to Melbourne to fly out on the 10th April, but haven't planned the last few days yet so could be just 9th/10th, or perhaps a couple of days before, depending on where/how long we stop on the way.
Cheers,
Robin.

Hi Robin.
Here goes - Third time lucky
'Tis a shame. I fly out to NZ on April 8 and won't be about. Would have been good to meet you.
The engine in mine is the original 2.25, 4 pot but it is stuffed - the whole vehicle is a bit of a wreck and I am starting from scratch.
The interior is good and the body panels, whilst near back to bare birmabrite are in good condition.
I am placing a new gal chassis under it - compliments of a purchase from a Mr Jerry D.
The distances in Oz are vast and in my previous series ownership experience the original set up is slow and fuel heavy.
I will keep the wrecked motor and gearbox as I have a matching number vehicle. I am placing a 300tdi and r380 stumpy box from Ashcroft into the vehicle.
I will keep the vehicle standard, with the exception of the modernity under the bonnet...
Best regards,
Darren

Hi Jerry
Gearbox is looking good Jerry...
How is the Dormobile going?
Have you got the TDI in and fired up?
Regards,
Darren

Re: series 2 carawagon build no's
In a word Darren "No" The above pic is quite recent although gearbox back in now. Found out the hard way that if you go to the beach and don't wash vehicle properly, surface rust appears on everything However, I've got rid of most of it now and will soon be putting parts back on after some more painting !!
Luckily chassis was well painted prior to driving on the beach so no damage, no more beach driving for me I'll stick to the forests and tracks
Most of my time recently has been spent on rebuilding number 2 son's Volvo
