Whose?

Post by RMS » Mon Dec 23, 2013 8:01 pm

Ian,(MrIceman on other forums) has posted this picture from the early days of LATP.

I think the one behind is possibly Big Dave's  but does anyone know whose the 5 door Carawagon is?

I've only been going to LATP for the last 4 years, so must be before then.

Cheers,
Robin.

That's Kevan Shaw's Continental Ultimate based in Edinburgh, he came to LATP several years ago.

Ah yes - I remember now :embarassed:

We were in touch with him when Patrick got his Continental Ultimate as a kit of parts :stars: to check the internal layout, seats etc.

He actually did invite us to meet up somewhere to compare notes and let us have a look and measure up of his, but then the rush to get it ready for Morocco, we just blundered through

I've just found our email exchange from 2010 so I'll drop him an email again to see if he's still got his.

Thanks John,

Robin.

He's the one who had a batch of Carawagon badges made Robin, minimum order of 28 or something like that! I got the impression that he would be hanging on to his Carawagon; he has a lighting design company IIRC.

I've just replied to an email he sent me late 2010 :embarassed:

I think, with him being in Edinburgh, and Patrick at St Andrews Uni at that time, the plan was to pop in to see him on the way up or down before Patrick graduated, but we never actually managed it :thud:

I've put a link to LRCC, so hopefully he might want to join us here

Just had a request from Kevan to join :nana1:

I've accepted it so hopefully he should be joining us soon.

Just out of interest, was that Dave's Carawagon behind Kevan's? Looking at it again, is it pastel green rather than limestone, and with painted woodwork on the sides I'm wondering if it might have been Steve's in a previous incarnation - John?

Cheers,
Robin.

It's Mine :) currently locked up for the winter and needing a small chassis patch for MOT. I have had it for 14 years and it has not seen a lot of use in the past couple of years due to time pressures as much as anything. It has a prodigious thirst for petrol so less inclined to do long runs also roof has chronic leaks I think from the roof light windows any idea how to cure these would be greatly appreciated:)

That one in 'front' of Kevans is indeed BigDave's. I have some pics from that year somewhere, let me find them...

Only pic I have uploaded is this one of Dave's
Must have some more somewhere!

I remember Kevan's had the starting handle neatly clipped under the bonnet, and a shower next to the back door too. Interior suitable for north of the border too as I seem to recall lots of tartan!!
