Fair stood the wind for France...
Re: Fair stood the wind for France...
She's a thing of beauty Alex. I wish I had the time and money to do mine...
Re: Fair stood the wind for France...
Looks fantastic Alex, and you've been VERY busy since I was last up at your place! Looking forward to seeing this one up close
Re: Fair stood the wind for France...
Calum - its a bit like me - passable from a distance but you wouldnt want to wake up next to me !
I tend not to give much attention to detail - more an 80 / 20 . However, that said, it is a joy to drive.
Michiel, the front bar is very much an aftermarket "accessory" I found on one of the fora. Helps us get in
Hopefully I will get my oil pressure guage fitted and working before the weekend

Oil pressure gauge fitted but there isn't any!!!
Not sure whether to go buy an oil pump to fit whilst in France - can they be fitted easily by dropping the sump?

Hi Alex
You have to drop the sump and the strengthen web plate from what I remember, but I can not recall any tdi having oil pump problems. The common oil pressure problem with the 200tdi is the cam bearing shells moving in the block, allowing all the oil to escape back into the sump. Or, it could be that all the shell bearings are worn, alowing a little bit of oil pressure to leak out everywhere. Sorry for being to doom munger.

The luxury of having a fleet of Dormobiles (of which 2 happen to be road legal) means that I can take the sensible option and go in the green one!Jabbawocky wrote:Hi Alex
