Re: Billing 25-27 July 2014
No-one?
It looks like I might have to cancel our stand at Billing then!
As someone else has now dropped out we only have two definite takers, plus me, and I really don't want to be left with just three campers on the stand!
We do have an obligation to Live Promotions to fill the stand, otherwise they will offer the stand to a club which can.
If we just have 3 vehicles, I'm sure they will remember that for the next show and we might not be offered a stand as I know there is a waiting list for club stands!
This puts the Spring Adventure (traditionally Driffield) and LRO Peterborough at risk as well
I'll give it another week before deciding, but as it looks at the moment, we might be giving Billing a miss this year

Re: Billing 25-27 July 2014
Would it help if I put my Dora up the clubstand, but not actualy being there? I have family over from Holland and there's no way swmbo will let me go for the weekend... But if it helps I can put Dora there for someone else to use maby? I do hope though that the stand will be manned at all times as there are people with long fingers at the Billing show. Someone from another club I am member of, got some equipment nicked from his truck on the stand...
Well, let me know as I live local to Billing, so dropping off and collecting will not be an issue.

Re: Billing 25-27 July 2014
That would be fantastic - a very kind offer Michiel
If we can rustle up just one more show-goer we might be ok.
5 interesting vehicles on a stand should be acceptable to the organisers, and I'd be happy to keep the stand in that case.
If it does happen, I would make sure there's someone on the stand at all times - we tend to 'live' on the stand anyway and not wander off to the beer tent or the evening entertainment (we make our own firepit entertainment )
Oh, and I could bring your Diesel heater down with me as well
Thanks,
Robin.

Re: Billing 25-27 July 2014
....... and that makes 5
Thanks for making the effort, Mark
No problem about Friday night - I would think that others on other stands will have folk arriving after work on Friday as well - we don't all have the luxury of being able to go whenever we want
There'll be two wristbands in the pack when you arrive - as from last year, you have to go to the registration tent on arrival to get your pass and wristbands; they don't send them in the post any more
I'll PM you and Michiel with details.
Thanks,
Robin.

Re: Billing 25-27 July 2014
Friday arrivals:
I've just spoken to the organisers about 'late arrivals'!
As this is a 3 day event they would obviously prefer everyone to be there by Friday morning so there are no gaps in the stands.
However, they do understand that some folk can't just take a day off work whenever they want, so they will have provision in place for folk arriving on Friday evening.
The registration/Event Control office will be closed at 5pm on Friday (9pm on Thursday) but the gate security staff will have instructions on what to do with late arrivals.
Amy, our contact at Live Promotions, would not say what those arrangements would be, but she was quite adamant that we could not collect passes/wristbands on behalf of anyone who might be arriving late.
The gate will be manned 24 hours, but they do advise getting there as early as possible while there are still plenty of security staff around.
