Wanted: defender dormobile or dormatic seats
Hell of a long shot, but I am after the above. I have a 110 station wagon and a 110 van dormobile and ideally I want to combine them into one vehicle. Therefore I need either a set of dormatic seats for the station wagon or a vehicle ready to go! If anyone has a 5 door series dormy and they might en...

Re: Refrigeration
I have a newish waeco and it's very quiet compared to a friends national luna, which is ideal if you're sleeping inside in climates where the fridge needs to be on.

Re: Diesel/petrol cab/camper heaters
Having just paid up for one of these excellent kits, i'm wondering if there is a thread anywhere of how and where people have installed them?

Our dormy got hit and run and now the fibreglass is leaking
Our dormy was victim to a hit and run yesterday but luckily we had witnesses that got the numberplate. Been going over it this morning and the majority ofnthe damage is the front passengerside wing and wheel. However overnight it's become apparent that the fibreglass roof is now leaking and it certa...

Re: Getting dormobile canvas to stretch.
Warming the canvass will make it stretch. The only trouble is that it will shrink as it cools and if you still have the original material, it tends to crack and split as it cools and tightens. I would drill extra holes in the stays so that the material doesn't get tight. Cold weather camping will d...

Dormobile canvas repair patches
Ive got some old used dormy canvas to patch up my working canvas.
Should the patches preferably be inside or outside or both?
I was going to use pvc pipe cement - is this appropriate?
Or is a tube of the pvc solvent cement like i used to accidentally melt airfix with better?
Cheers!

Re: Getting dormobile canvas to stretch.
Oh, that's a good plan indeed!! IF it's not raining later i'll go out and do exactly that. My windows aren't fitted at the moment so no worries there.

Re: Getting dormobile canvas to stretch.
Thanks both. I don't have the windows in the roof fitted right now but when i do I'll leave it up for a while and maybe even hair dryer it in? I'm not overly keen on drilling holes in the poles but I can see why this would be a good solution! I've heard new canvases can be a real pig too but unfortu...
