Tent for a Dormobile
Some Carawagon and Dormobile owners here have come up with different solutions to expanding the space available when camping (obviously some carawagons already have a slide out roof awning). I don't know if this little story will help or give anyone else ideas: - Anyone who has seen Dormy pitched wi...

Re: How much water?
We have a 23ltr carrier, but it is for all our fresh water usage. Generally lasts us a couple of days.
I have added a folding tap to the sink and a connection to the outside of Dormy which fits the caravan pump so just press a floor switch for water.

Great, reminds me of a '65' motor a friend owned (for about a year). Looked just the same faded colour !

Re: Dormobile bunks - max load?
30yrs ago a friend and I slept often in the bunks on weekend trips with the S(Scottish)LROC, but I weighed just under 11 stone (70kg) then !
Nowadays the bunks are mostly used for SWMBO's excess luggage though occasionally our 8yr old grandson does sleep up there.

Any pics/info on the foam tubes you fitted ? Let us know how you get on with the others.

Re: Fitting Overdrive to Dormobile
Yes, the blanket box is wider and deeper than the standard tool tray but only requires a small amount of modification. IIRC I modified Dormy's by cutting a couple of parallel slots in the bottom and running them up into the back panel. I then beat this to form a reversed section and closed the gaps ...

Re: Door seal Rivets and front dormatic seat
There is a bit of a design flaw with the Dormatic seats when folded flat to make the bed(s) as Mick has hinted at with his inflateable mattress. You will probaly find that the bed drops slightly between the flat rear seats and the flat front ones. For me, this step co-incided with the small of my ba...

Re: Carawagon?
It's also got a Range Rover steering column and steering box - Best make sure the chassis has been properly strengthend around where they will have removed the front crossmember too.RobW wrote:brakes are knackered (ish) and hand brake will need checking.
