Hi Dan
According to the book, they were doing 80 conversions a week in 1959. In 1970 they converted 1,969 vehicles into Dormobiles and by 1972 they had built 40,000 Dormobiles on all chassis types.
Cheers Mick
You seam shocked? Got the Dormobile book for xmas and that shows pictures of the production in Dormobile and shows 11 vehicles being built at once (only partial shot of one of seven large sheds) and another aerial shot shows over a hundred vehicles for some sort of conversion. 1200 employees and there own train bringing vehicles in to be converted. And as I said on S2C it could be the twin of mine, absolutely identical!!!
