So far we've got John with his 'mini-camper', Steve, Patrick and me in Carawagons.
Cheers,
Robin.

Good grief, after nearly a week or so of constant rain, I thought we'd be having a break from it.
But...... I've just checked the forecast for next weekend and it's bad, really bad
It won't put me off, or the 'hard core' group, I'm sure - just have to stoke the firepit up and put the awnings up
Yours damply,
Robin.

The forecast seems to be improving: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2639323" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
At the moment it's just a bit of light rain on the Sunday, otherwise fine but a bit cold...

Nice to hear, Patrick.

Ripon Classic Car Show, 6th May - Show Report
Well, I think this weekend was pretty much a success apart from one of us (me ) dumping 6.5l of new engine oil onto the carriageway of the A1 on Friday - so if you're biking on the Northbound carriageway, about 2miles south of the Wetherby services - be careful
Anyway, the weather on our Friday night camp was ok - a bit chilly, but dry, so we enjoyed a few drinks around the firepit.
Saturday saw us breaking camp and driving the final few miles to the showground, where I made it without dumping any more oil
We settled down for the night, and enjoyed a Moroccan Kefta with just a few bottles of pear cider, alcoholic ginger beer and something a bit stronger, and much later, with the clock in the AM, and the temperature in the minus figures, we settled down to our respective beds, most of us with hot water bottles
Breakfast was cooked on the firepit, as usual, as we watched the 400+ classic cars + bikes filing in. We were positioned near the entrance which was a great place to watch the cars coming in, and every so often a voice would pipe up; "That's my next car!"
We attracted a fair bit of interest ourselves. It was more-or-less non stop for most of the day, showing folk around the Carawagons and campers, and chatting about trips with them.
There were three Carawagons, Steve's, Patrick's and mine, plus John's SWB 'pocket rocket mini camper', Martyn's V8 LWB with bed in the back, and Neil & Annie with their nice SWB & tent.
We were asked to take a couple of the Carawagons into the show ring later in the day where we were grilled by the Master of Ceremonies - no unexpected questions there! but it did raise the profile a bit more, and even more folk came around afterwards to have a closer look.
I'm hoping some pictures will appear here from other members - unfortunately I did my usual trick of not remembering to take any
Anyway, roll on Driffield in 4 days time
Cheers,
Robin.

Here's our intrepid hero about to refill with oil.
Full English, anyone? (remembering whose sausages are whose)
Patrick (peaceand) gets down to some expert spoon carving
Please note this must be very late at night, as alcohol is evident...

Re: Ripon Classic Car Show, 6th May
Minus temperatures in the evening played havoc with the cooking oil.
My boy lollipop...
Please also note Neil's pink fluffy things. Apparently they were delicious.
The cold evening had no effect whatsoever on Martyn's ability to collect empties.
Grub up, chaps!
Robin's new carawagon was inspected regularly, this time by John

Hundreds of classic cars were present on Sunday, and wonderful weather.
Jeepers, look at the two wheel transport!
This groovy set-up was pulled by a Series 1
And was a home-from-home inside
Great conversion

Thanks for the photos and commentary, Steve
Did anyone get one of the whole LRCC camp, with the board up?
