Hi all,

Anybody seen this one on ebay?
Has been for sale numerous times now. Last year on the Billing show too.
Asking price is a bit steep.
Also claims interior is all original... Think not...

Last time it started at £6300, the current seller (or same seller with new photos) is a bit more ambitious now!

It seems to have had some of the stickers removed from the bottoms of the doors since then, not sure much else has changed.

I don't think anything else has changed to be honest.
I have had a good look in the landy when it was on sale on Billing last year.

Kudos to him if he gets that kind of money for it, but it is far from original.
Granted, the main bits are there and probably are original, but the curtains are not original, it has a La-Salle front headlining, I don't think (not 100%sure) that Dormobile used this kind of fabric on their seats.
No doubt the chassis will have been butchered around to fit the V6.

But it looked sound in general and ready to use. Just wish people would stop telling fibs about their cars when selling.

For this kind of money I'd rather wait for the Dormobile Blue from Alex to become available if I was still in the market for a Dormobile.

And I wonder if it is still the same owner as last year at Billing.

£10,000. I would want twice that for mine. If you think a similar VW could sell for £30,000 and still be less useful.

As for the originality claim. Yes, there are a few changes, but the majority of the Dormobile fitments are still there and still function as intended.

Compare this vehicle to a other campervans/overland vehicles that are ready to go anywhere, I still say it is a bargain. I wish them luck.

The v6 wold be nice but thirsty, does it have a galv chassis I wonder?

2nd row doors fit better than mine (mine were new ones from britpart)

I remember seeing it at Billing before I emigrated, I remember admiring the artwork I'd say that the price is reasonable if there's no rust.
But saying that I'd be lucky to get half that amount for mine in Australia.

I've been quite amazed lately that the Bedford Dormobiles fetch such high prices.

Hi everyone I totally agree with mick about time we stopped thinking about our trucks as old bangers and started to realise their true value ,as he says ten grand doesn't get you started in the vw world ,I do a lot of vw shows with my grandson and go in my carawagon it causes a lot of interest but they simply can't understand when I tell them it,s market value I too would want double that for mine , I was given mine but it must stand me at more than what he,s asking Good luck to him it,s got to be worth that

I don't anticipate La Dormobile Bleu rushing off into the sunset quickly with my OIR of £10k, but wouldn't mind if it ded !

I guess you guys are right. I have to adjust my views here. Our Landies are true classics and certainly in the same league as the VW campervans.
I agree also with Alex, Fashion plays a big role on the price. VW campervans is a cult scene and Landrover campers simply not.

Seeing the price going up should be a good thing I guess, specially if you plan on selling at some point.
But I do wish people would be more honest with describing their vehicle. Saying it has an original interior in this case is simply not true.
