G'day chap's, as the title says really but when i got to 40 they gave me 2 months to live and yes i have had a handful of major operations but i am stubborn and thanks to my hobby and friends on the computer i am now mid 60's .

Yes it can be frustrating at times not just for me but to others i let down because i can't always do what i would like but i have beat the odd's and don't give a monkey, to all that know me and have helped me through bad times it's appreciated more than words can say.

Sorry to those i annoy and upset but in my little world life is to short and we are all here to help each other which in the end makes for a better world to live in.

You've reminded me ... do you want a gas hob for your ambulance? Usual terms, FOC, you pay shipping, or collect, or I'll deliver ... sometime. I've got two spare, one two ring ... unused, the other is two ring and grill ... well used. You will need a 4.5kg gas bottle, and an unregulated connector (which are more difficult to find).

G'day John, i must say it's nice to know i am thought of when you find you have a spare and the fact i find it hard to say no get's me into all sorts of trouble but yes please .

Is it heavy due to it being either postage or relay although i am aiming to get to Peterborough Land Rover show if everything goes according to plan .

Your dad was a military man, but I doubt that he ever flew into RAF Sharjah (a few miles from Dubai).

The nearest toilet block to the MT Section did not have partitions between the thrones ... if you didn't have a newspaper you could read the bloke's sitting next to you. (You youngsters haven't lived).

There were two ways of approaching this building ... nonchalantly, pick up a bog roll on the way in, go down to the far end, where it was dark.

But if things were a bit fraught (quite common in the Middle East) you would approach at a run, adjusting your shorts on the way. Drop onto the nearest throne, and sit there until the emergency was over. Look round ... all the bog rolls were in a pile ... at the dark end.

Sharjah ... crazy place. Lying on my bed one evening when an RAF policeman came in, looking for a friend of Sparky, the electrician.

"Come with me!"

"Why, what's he done!"

"He's drunk, riding a bike up and down the runway, being chased by another Snowdrop in a Land Rover".

"So?"

"There's a Britannia up there ... wants to land!"
