Insurance questions

Post by Jimmy74 » Mon Jul 24, 2017 7:30 pm

Hi All, I've got a couple questions about the insurance for my 109.
The Landy isn't a camper on its v5c, it's listed as a van body with side window. The conversion isn't complete either, not all the fittings are permanently fitted as I still use the old girl as a van. So my question is how do I list it?

Secondly I would like more than the standard 90 days Europe cover and I'm finding it difficult getting the extra cover unless I use a camper van specialist. ( Back to question 1 )
Also been quoted £££££ as the modifications are been frowned upon.

Any help greatly appreciated

Sorry, don't know the answer but have seen countless posts on the overnight camping facebook pages about registering vans as campers. It seems that "modern" vans are restricted to 60 mph but camper vans aren't.
Of the 4 Dormobiles I have had, only one has been registered as a motor caravan. Whether this is an indication of provenence, I don't know.

Peter James has been great with insurance for me, regarding mods, but haven't asked about more than the 90 days.

My 110 is listed as a County Station Wagon.

I'm insured with Adrian Flux, I told them all the modifications I knew about, including the disco engine and auto box, fridge, lesisure battery, hob, sink, shower and so on, plus I needed business use on it and they were fine with me.
To infirmary and beyond!

Hey Matt,

Hope all is good in your world. Been a lllllooooonnnnngggg time no see.

I spoke to flux and they would insure the 2a with all her mods but couldn't give me the cover I wanted for European travel. The quote given was £££ expensive too.

Hi,

I am with Peter James, and have been very happy with
the service I have received.I have agreed values, breakdown
cover, and most important to me salvage rights. All this
for less than than previous companies, which is strange
as underwriter is the same.

Regards
