LRCC WINS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD
Sunday, 13th May 2012

Land Rover Classic Campers today won an award at the Driffield LRO Spring Adventure Land Rover Show!

Judging took place in secret, and the LRCC members present at the show were informed this morning that they had won the "BEST CLUB STAND" of the show!

The winner's parade took place in the main arena at 12:30, in front of crowds of onlookers, and Robin accepted the award on behalf of the LRCC.

The members who made this possible by displaying their vehicles for the LRCC were:
John Horne (plus Sandra), Mick Outhwaite (plus Louise, Joe & William), Phil Newman, Dave Wardle, Steve Walker and Patrick & Robin Sanderson.

The lineup included an 88" camper, two Dormobiles and four Carawagons.

Well done to all concerned

A similar thing happened to us when we took the Dormobile down to the "Landrover Expo" in Sydney last year. Unknown to us we had been judged "best camper" in show and were really surprised when three judges turned up and handed us a trophy :nana1: Just proves you don't need a shiny car to win a prize !!

The weather had been awful, high winds and torrential rain for three days so to win an award seemed to make it all worthwhile.

The trophy........

Thanks Phillip & Jerry - nice words of encouragement :tiphat:

I've added a picture of our award - unfortunately, although we got pics of each of us individually holding it, I don't think any of us thought about a group photo, though the official photographer took a few.
Perhaps they will be in next month's LRO mag?

I've tried to take a photo of the award, and even tried scanning, to post it here, but it's a thick glass affair, and I can't seem to get a reflection-free or clear picture of it, so you'll just have to put up with a windswept me holding it :neener:

Cheers,
Robin.

Hi Robin and all involved in the award winning club stand!!!! :wine:

We managed to visit the stand at Driffield and were privvy to some advice and good suggestions from you all for our new to us carawagon.

The stand looked great and was visited by a lot of interested folk.

Well done to all concerned for the hard work and dedication over the weekend.

The award was well deserved, I am only sorry I missed the presentation.

Congratulations to all the carawagon and dormobile owners that made up the stand at Driffield.

Best wishes Les and Yvonne :tiphat:

LROI is hot off the press and the July issue features a review of the Driffield show - so there's a photo of Patrick's Carawagon and my mini-camper plus a couple of shots with Carawagon roofs in the background and of course a couple more of the motley crew receiving the above mentioned award.

cheers

I wonder if LRO would complain if we scanned them and posted them here?
I'll give them a ring to find out
