We have again been asked to put on our now infamous & award-winning 'Moroccan themed encampment' display :tiphat:

Hi I am intending to go to the Yorkshire classic vehicle show on the above date and I wondered who else will be turning up and if they will be camping from Friday /Saturday nights Unfortunately my classic series II is dead at the moment she has no wireing and I doubt if the job will be finished in time so I will be coming in my 90 with the caravan Hope the weather gets better and look forward to seeing you all Neil

Hi Neil,

Well, it says 10am on the site, but I think that's for the public to view.

I'm sure traders start coming in very early (7:30>?) .

I'll find out and let you know

Cheers,
Robin.

Yeah, we always get up at 7.30 at shows, don't we

Turns out Neil was asking about arrival time on Saturday, which is officially after lunch!

I've PM'd him to put him right

Well, looks like we're in for a damp weekend, unless the forecast changes :thud:

All hail the big tarp, oh, and Carawagon sliding awning poles

Well, another very enjoyable and successful weekend.

We survived thunderstorms and a torrential downpour on Saturday afternoon which saw all of us 'massaging' the tarps to stop big pools of water collecting and bringing the whole lot down :aaagh:

However, it cleared up and we had an enjoyable night around the firepit, with the usual Kefta, donuts (provided by Neil's mum ), loads & loads of pear cider (don't ask what time of day we started drinking that :embarassed:) and some stronger stuff

We were also entertained by a big fireworks display from a nearby event in Ripley. We thought it was in our honour, but probably not (we just like to think so  ).

We woke to a sunny morn, at 07:30 of course :neener: to the classic cars and traders arriving.

The event was fairly well attended, but not as busy as we've seen before.

However, the highlight came as we were yet again presented with the "Best Show Stand" award :gold:
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I'm sure we got the award because ours was the best stand there, and not because Mark, the show organiser, and some of his staff sheltered in our encampment during a downpour in the middle of the show

Pictures to follow - unfortunately, those of you who know me well won't be surprised when I say that I didn't take any photos :embarassed:

Cheers,
Robin.
