Hi Chris

Welcome to the forum. Would love to see your truck as I was going to do the same on my 2a Fc until I found complete 2a 109 Dormobile that needed restoring. I even had a Dormobile roof to fit to mine.

How have you fitted out the inside? How long has it been on the road? Surprised I have never see it before as I go to lots of shows and am not that far from you. I now live near Skipton, but was born in the County of Derwentshire in the East Riding of Yorkshire. still have lots of family over there.

Cheers Mick

Yep, check out our 2013 shows list HERE, though we don't do all of them.

The next really busy period for some of us is the middle of August to the end of September - it could be 6 shows in 7 weeks :stars:

Oh, and we're looking for classic campers to join us at Billing if that's not too far for you. Just PM me if you want a pass

Cheers,
Robin.

Thanks for the replies. I've had my F/C for over 30 years. I first built it as a dropside truck, with S1 b/head and doors, 2a cab, alloy rear floor with timber dropsides. When I bought a 'proper' F/C 2a to restore, my 88 got a full hardtop fitted. I never realy liked the new one and sold it at the Driffield L/R show in 2004. My 88 has gradually evolved over the years. Recent alterations include, fitting a door to the n/s, moving the diesel tank to the rear, fitting station wagon sliding windows all around, making a locker on the o/s for gas bottles, batteries, water container and a red diesel container for heater. Inside, I have a fold down bed, full cooker, sink, 2-way fridge, Ebberspacher 24v D1LC diesel heater with a 12v-24v stepper. Also added a Sony radio/cassette c/w 10cd changer. I've been buying some new cd's to replace my ageing cassette tapes (Pink Floyd and Tangerine Dream). Engines over the years, Rover V8, Perkins A4.300 (4.9ltr), Ford 255 cu.in. (4.2ltr) and Ford box with L/R tansfer box, Leyland 4/98 (3.8ltr), Perkins 4.203 (3.3ltr). Present engine is a Diahatsu 2.8 TD thru' a S3 box with O/D. I'm running on 235.85.16's on black painted 8 spokes. It's also had a bit of a change to paintwork, top half is now light grey, more in keeping wih the traditional Land Rover colour theme.

Hello Chris and welcome to the site.

I saw your Forward Control Camper at Ripley Castle after we spoke about Ollie.

How did the show go at Raby Castle??

We did not make it due to going to Dunsfold to see the collection.

Best wishes Les :tiphat:
